We happened across Homegrown one cold winter morning and were pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere, service and food. We enjoy a piece of coffee cake before our breakfast - highly recommend! We have been to both locations in DesMoines and each is very good.

Great food, fast service and nice ambiance. Love the wood accents. And the Irish Coffee was great.

Hello All What else can I say! Cute, clean, fresh! I say just go here from some great breakfast. Service-Super friendly as welll. I will be back for aome more Yums!!! Great job.

Quickly on the shortlist as one of the best breakfast/brunch places in the Des Moines Metro, HomeGrown checked every box on our initial visit, a midday stop. There is abundant parking and seating inside (booths, counter, tables) and outside in warmer weather. Immaculate, great artwork, fun phrases, clean restrooms. Pepsi products. Their mantra is "Cultivate Kindness," and they consistently achieved it. You can get on their wait list thru the Yelp app. Our server (Taylor) was outstanding, kind, and knew the menu well without rushing us at any time. I thoroughly enjoyed my BLTA+E, a tasty sandwich consisting of a BLT with avocado, mayo, and a fried egg on multigrain toast. I added red potatoes as my side. My Way Better Half loved her Cinnamon Swirl French Toast.

Food was great once we finally got seated. Wait time was 45 minutes. Sat in car until we were notified It gets really congested near front door. Service was great. It was really busy at 8:45am on a Saturday morning.

I am between a 3 and 4, and I'm rounding up for great service and solid food. Food came out very quickly, and our server was fantastic! We went on a Thursday at noon, and got in pretty quickly, but they had obviously been very busy. The crowd did thin the hour and a half we were there. Menu is pretty varied, but I got an omelette, and it comes with potatoes and an English Muffin. The potatoes were OK, as was the muffin. It came with a tasty, but very watery jelly, so I pretty much just skipped the muffin. The omelette was very good--I got the Jon's Denver, but decided to forego the sour cream. One other in our group got the same thing, and our other diner got the Avocado Toast. He said it was very good, and the presentation was fun. All-in-all it was a solid breakfast, but the food didn't wow me.

We started by going to Yelp and getting on the waitlist. I love this option. It said my check-in time was 2 min from then. It gave me a 10 min wondow to check in. Amazing, since I was about 2 min from the restaurant. I have used this option for the Ingersol location as well. We waited, maybe 5 min, for our table once we arrived. We were brought glasses right away and told our server would be there soon. He was great. Answered my questions. I had narrowed it down to different meals. My dining companion had the lemon ricotta pancakes (feom the seasonal section). I wondered when they were delivered without syrup, if they were supposed to have some. I "stole" a bite. They definitely did NOT need syrup. They were delicious. I had been wanting French toast since I made the mistake at another restaurant (when I narrowed it down to 2 items and didn't pick the French toast) I did the cinnamon one. It was amazing. Great cinnamon flavor. I have never had a bad meal at Homegrown.

I have always enjoyed the downtown location, so was thrilled when they opened a new venue close to home. The food is always amazing. Having tried multiple items on the menu, I have always been delighted with my selection. Kindness is a core value here and every staff member reflects that ideal. From the hostess to the server, everyone is friendly. I highly recommend!!!
